Just before storm Eowyn arrived, Primary 6/7 had a whirly wonderful windy workshop with Stephen from the Drumlin Wind Collective. They learned all about modern renewable energy sources and then focussed on wind power to understand exactly how the wind turbines dotted across our landscapes harness energy and generate electricity. Pupils then had to form STEM teams of planners, architects and engineers to design and construct their own working wind turbines, which Stephen then put to the sustainability test with a hairdryer on full blast! A most informative and highly enjoyable project.
