P6/7 STEM Spaghetti Towers
23rd May 2022
Our P6/7 class had lots of fun today designing and building a tower using spaghetti and marshmallows. This challenge links design and technology, mathematics and science as children use problem-solving strategies and knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes to build their towers.
Looking at different towers from around the world, children discussed where and why particular shapes are used in the environment. They discovered triangular shapes are the strongest shape to provide the most support for their tower.
Why not have a try of this at home and see how tall you can make your tower?
